contact search on Incredible!

When I go to my contacts from the home page there is no way to search for a certain contact. I have only found that you can scroll up or down. There is no way to search for like MOM using the letter (M) unless I go up or down. Am I missing something or have a setting incorrect. Every single phone before this one has this kind of search. Help me out please. Maybe there is an app for this or something!

There is a widget for that. Long press on the screen->widgets->and choose "search" widget, it's a white bar that says google in it. Now just type in the contact you want, like "mom".

there is a way to search people in your contacts. i just did it lol. if you go through the people app just press the search button and start typing the name. if you want to search through via the phone (meaning the dialer) just press the corresponding numbers for the name (for ex 262 for "Bob") and the smart dial will find all contacts with those letters (or any other phone numbers with "262" in it).
