Help contacts appearing in contacts

sure this is an android thing but just recently am having new contacts appearing on my phone contacts, these seem to be mainly names with email addresses only. i think these are being added by my hotmail app which i installed recently, is there a way to stop this?
my normal contacts have a black g whereas newly appeared contacts have a green portrait symbol.
