Help Contacts crashing...

I told Contacts to sort by last name and now it just does a Force Close with "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

I can't get to a point where I can tell it to sort by First Name.

@frasej: How do you tell contacts to sort by last name? I hate the first name first.

Go into Settings --> Applications --> Contacts

Tap the:Clear cache (Not clear data).

Does that clear it up?

DavidG: You know, I can't remember. If I can get back to a point where I can do it again, I'll let you know.

I even tried clearing the data and as soon as it started to reload it from gmail, it died.

I was able to solve the problem by:
1. Turning off background sync: Settings -> Accounts
2. Deleting the data: Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Contacts Storage and "Clear data"
3. Going into Contacts, pressing menu, "Display options", "Sort list by" and selecting "First name"
4. Going back into System Settings, Accounts and re-enabling background sync.

DavidG: Step 3 is how you can sort by last name
