Contacts from Blackberry, iPhone or Windows Mobile to T-Mobile G1

If you are familiar with syncing your contacts with outlook this will help you tons.

1. Make sure all of your contacts from your current phone are synced up with Outlook.

2. Goto File

3. Import and Export

4. Select "Export to a file" and Click Next

5. Select "Comma Seperated Values (Windows)" and click Next

6. Select Contacts and click Next

7. Choose a destination for the file to be saved and click next

8. Click Finished

If you have excel or a spreadsheet program, go ahead and open the file. In the last name field make sure that each person either has a last name or has some letter in the field or they will not import correctly. They will just end up showing up with a phone number w/o a name. After doing this, resave the file.

From here you will need to login to your google account to finish the process.

Gmail Link

After thats done your device should be syncing the contacts into your phone within seconds. Hope this helps some people out. I get this question alot at the store I work at so I figured it would be a nice thing to post step by step instructions.

i have tried that process and much of my contact information was in the wrong places. I ended up having to make my own csv file and transfering the contacts. I would however recommend using funambol application you download it from marketplace and make an account. you would then install pc client and transfer your outlook contacts to funmabol and then download it through the phone application.
