Contacts syncing from one phone to another

Hello people. Sorry if this seems to be a repost but I didnt find any similiar thread.

Thing is I got a new S4 and then the display cracked. So it went to repairs. before it went to repairs, all my contacts were synced to my google account. Now for the time being a used a temporary Galaxy Pocket and connected my google account tom sync the contact. However, not all contacts were synced.

Now i have got my S4 back and I have added more contacts to the Pocket too. So basically what I want is to have all the contacts that were in my S4 and all the contacts that I have in my Pocket. Any advise on how to accomplish it successfully please?

Thanks!

Are you SURE you are saving all contacts to your Google account? Are they all there if you check using a browser?

The only way to be sure is going to your Google account on a PC/Mac browser, and checking Google Contacts in Gmail. If they aren't there, then you aren't saving to Google.

Also, does your contacts have a little blue "g" icon beside them when you look in your Contacts app?

sync seems to be default to only happen when connected on wifi

if you goto settings while in gallery (the left of the home button ) then tap on your account/email it gives you a button "tap to sync now" to force a sync for each app.

Actually no. I have unlimited data so the interval between the times my phone is connected to WiFi could span months, and yet I am synced often enough to have edits I made a few hrs ago update in my computer.

I think its an option ? the default on my device was set to only sync on wifi, I believe you can change in gallery settings as mentioned above ? anyway it "should" be possible to force contact sync in that app using the method I mentioned :)

Settings -> Accounts -> Google

tap on your gmail account name. Make sure Contacts has the check box checked. Do this on both devices.

If your 'Pocket' isn't active on your cell service, connect it via Wifi.

Profit.

good luck

If I remember correctly, Samsung phones usually default to the "My Contacts" storage, which doesn't sync to Google. You have to set it to Google contacts first.

Guys I am saving to google only. All the contacts have a g next to it. And my sync is also automatic.

Ok lets consider this. I synced all the contacts on one phone to pc through kies. And also all contacts on second phone to pc through kies too. Now any way to put all contacts in one single file? Duplicate contacts wont be an issue as I have an app to remove them.

Please advise.

The problem is Kies can't sync Google contacts. It can only sync the contacts in phone storage labeled 'My Contacts'. If you used Kies to sync, then it indeed won't sync all contacts.

I'm thinking not all contacts you have are labeled as Google contacts. The only way to be sure is that go to Gmail on a PC and open contacts. Only those in there are Google contacts.

I havent used Kies to backup the contacts. I saved all contacts on both phones to a .vcf file directly through contacts itself. So hence, I am having 2 .vcf files. So now any way to group them all together? Like I said earlier, duplicate contacts do not matter as I can remove them through an app called "Duplicate Contacts".
