Contacts vcf file cant be imported

Hi,

If I am posting this in the incorrect forum, please excuse my ignorance.

I just bought a Samsung grand..I have sent my contacts from the blackberry I had via bluetooth to this one. Under the bluetooth files i see the phonebook vcf file ..but if i click it ..it says vcf cant be imported.

How do i get this to import. Failing which how do I get my contacts from BB onto this one. One additional issue with me is that most of my BB contacts are onthe phone, not the sim.

I also do have about 90% of my contacts in an excel file with name, numbers etc..if that helps figure this out.

I would really appreciate any help! Its a bummer having a new phone and not being able to plug into it!

Oh! sorry just as i posted this i read somewhere to convert the excel contact list into a csv and upload into google.com/contacts and that i have been able to do. should i just add my sim to the new phone and this contact list gets populated? oh i really hope taht's how it works out..just gonna go try it out!!

you can import your contacts from excel file to android device using the software Myphoneexplorer installed in PC and connecting ur mobile and transfer.

You should buy a good phone, for example Nokia with WP8 because Android is only for kids

Apart from what post# 2 says. If you still have the BB phone I suggest transfer your contacts into MS Outllook then use MyPhoneExplorer to import them into your phone.
