Have you exported the contacts from another Android phone, or is it just bunch of vcf files, or csv file?
- If you've exported it form Android - People, press Menu, Import/Export, Import from SD card
- If it bunch of csv files, you can import it. Intall some filemanager (Astro, Ghost commander, ...), start it and open the csv files, when opening, COntacts shoul offer you a option to save the contact to phone memory (you can import csv to Gmail, see next step)
- csv - try to import it to Gmail or follow advices on Google
