Contract date reset due to a warranty exchange

I was within my 30 days and was having some issues with my Droid Incredible so Verizon exchanged it for me for a brand new one.

Well, this morning when I got on my verizon account I noticed that my contract had been extended by another 30 days and also my new every two date pushed back another 30 days as of yesterday's date.

Not cool!

I like to do early upgrades and I could have taken advantage of some of the Christmas sales next year, now I won't be able too.

Doing an exchange for faulty equipment should not force the customer into a new contract extension even if it is only a month.

Yeah just call and explain this too them. I had to do this for my gf, she had gotten a 1 year contract and then set her up with a new two year one. I had to call and get the contract end date moved and then also call again for them to change the upgrade date.

Was this an upgrade or new activation? Your contract end date will be(should be) 2 years after the first 30 days of having the phone, because you can deactivate service before your 30days penalty free...well there will still be the restock fee, but no ETF..... Your contract really starts on day 31 after its locked for 2 years. Maybe this is what you are experiencing? I could be way off but thats what it looks like to me

I did call and they told me that because I was given a new phone within the 30 day window it is subject to a new 2 year contract. Then they told me that I would still be able to annually upgrade but that is now no longer true.

that happened to me and I had paid full retail for my phone... when the replacement came in I had to call in to activate it because it was wanting to extend my contract...that was already ended...well the girl told me to accept the contract and she would take care of it... well the next month my contract was extended for 2 years so I started calling...first girl I got basically told me I was wrong that I didnt PIF for the phone that it was an upgrade...The third Guy I talked to had brains enough to go in and see where I had bought the X on the 15th called in a replacement on the 19th...them ship me a phone and recieve my original around the 29th...not only did he set everything back the way it was plus he refunded my money for the droid x where I paid full retail and somehow Gave me the phone..He said it was the least he could do.... I was nice to every one I talked to. It just took getting the right person....so DONT let them extend you due to a warranty replacement that is NOT correct for them to do.
