Contract on uncarrier

Well apparently bringing your own device will have you on contract with post paid.. I would have to pay an etc and everything and I am under it until January of next year ..I can't eip because I brought my own device. They also said I must pay off the rest of my deposit to get access to eip (but know one knew how much that was) and a different way to get eip would add another line which be another 50 bucks on top of the 35 activation fee plus down payment for the device... Was I missing anything? Anyone else have a similar tale of uncarrier?

If you brought your own phone, you're still eligible for a new no contract plan. You just have to trade in your current device and get a new one on T Mobile's EIP. Now it is possible that you signed a contract before T Mobile started the un carrier moves. If that is the case, you can still move to one of the regular plans by simply trading in your device and getting a new one.

Got on T-Mobile last month from metro pcs

Then I don't think you have a contract in the first place. What did you do to get on a T-Mobile plan, exactly? Can you describe the process?

I did it online did the unlimited family plan two lines paid 10 dollars for each sim and paid my security deposit of 100 bucks. Fast forward to last week my matrix has been behaving inefficient as of late so I wanted to get an eip seems simple. I was told that because I brought my own device I wasn't eligible for eip until Jan 2016 it caused slight confusion in the authorized dealer (told me I was under contract) so I went corporate. They said something about a deposit not being paid saying that I needed to wait until then to qualify or add new lines which would need deposits as well and deposits on the device phone call to T-Mobile confirmed it

Sounds like you still had an unfinished contract with Metro PCS. You cannot have a contract with T-Mobile since they no longer offer contracts.

And apparently the phone you brought with you to T-Mobile is one you purchased under your Metro PCS contract, not an unlocked model you own outright.

T-Mobile does not require deposits if you have good credit and no outstanding obligations to past providers.

Ahahaah do you know what metro PCS is? It is a prepaid service and the phone I used is an unlocked atrix hd from at&t I unlocked it from them myself. Now you can understand my confusion as I was sure that I can't be under contract but yet I am. Things are strange very strange but from what I gathered from what I was told via corporate was it how my cookie crumbled. If I want a new device I can't finance with eip I must pay full price for a new phone until next January.

This is really bizarre, but another thing to try would be to see if they will let you enroll in JUMP. If they do, you can get an EIP that way.

If that doesn't work, your only option may be to buy something else outright. For something inexpensive, look into getting a Nexus 5 or a Moto G. For the most part the Moto G should suit your needs just fine. I would also move to a prepaid plan - either on T-Mobile or on Straight Talk. If you cancel your current T-Mobile plan and pay your last bill, T-Mobile should refund your deposit, which means you should be able to get the Moto G for another $100 or so.

I might just grab another atrix HD because I love my LTE connection and straight talk is not what I want I could go back to metro PCs because its cheaper and same network but I will try the jump options my poor atrix HD took a bath...

That Atrix HD is a dinosaur phone by today standard. Go with the LG Optimus F3. Much better phone for the money.

Dinosaur no it was great running KitKat and the same chipset as the s3 , f3 boot loader is locked (lg stands for locks good) has no promise of kk update. The atrix HD has a larger screen and on board storage (I don't like app2sd) so can't have the 2.5gb of apps I run the optimus f line isn't that appealing to me. 100 bucks to 130 sounds like a great deal for the money

I must have been looking at the wrong phone. The one i am telling is an old ICS phone.
