Contract Opinions & Phone Rantings

I wanted some opinions on my wireless plan and phones.

I currently have the grandfathered unlimited 4g, 1400 minutes, and 1000 texts. I also have my daughter's basic phone on a second line. I am eligible for an upgrade right now and while I have wanted to leave Verizon they have the best coverage in my area. I wanted T-Mobile and tried a Nexus 4 but I had zero coverage in the house and wifi calling isn't an appealing option.

So it looks like Verizon is my only option right now. I have narrowed my upgrade choices to the the LG G2 and the Nexus 5. I would be very surprised to see if the Nexus 5 makes Verizon so the LG G2 seems the logical choice.

If I upgrade and use the current discount being offered I can get the G2 for $139.99 and another 2 year contract. I lose my unlimited but I rarely use more than 2GB of data per month. I gain unlimited minutes and texts which would be nice.

I contemplated selling my Verizon contract on eBay but the average price is probably around $200 for a contract. I will have the hassle of the AOL process and eBay fees so it doesn't seem likes its worth since I'm not a heavy data user.

Am I missing anything here? Any downside to going to the Share Everything plan based on my current use?

I think the LG G2 would be a good choice and I don't see anything on the Verizon horizon that makes more sense. My Galaxy Nexus is getting by with CyanogenMod but it's showing it's age especially in the battery & performance department.

I am huge lover of stock Android and I like CyanogenMod on my Nexus. I am hoping the developers get the bootloader unlocked because the G2 is a prime candidate for custom roms. That would make my user experience much better.

I could pass my Galaxy Nexus on to my daughter and upgrade her from her Samsung Brightside (very dumb phone).

Your thoughts?

Do you have an upgrade available on your daughter's line? If so, you can get the phone with it and activate it on your line then activate your old phone on hers.

It sounds like signing a new contract would be more beneficial to you.

Unless your usage habits are going to change and increase your data consumption, that appears to be the best option.
