Well said. Handbrake is more than capable of such conversions. And if needed, there are other free converters, so buying such a software is waste of money.First, you shouldnt have to BUY a program like that. Handbrake does it better then any program, and its free.
Second, you may not need to convert the file if its already 1080p mkv. Mkv is just a container, and the codec used may already be h264. Download MediaInfo on your computer, open the file in there, switch to Text View, and copy the results here so we can see.
The roots of Handbrake come from Mac. That's why you have presets for "i"devices. However, it is also suitable for a wide range of other devices.I don't know why because I can only see some output profiles with iPod devices. Is Handbrake only for iPod devices?
Thanks, I will reinstall it and try, because I had delete it fews days before. The roots of Handbrake come from Mac. That's why you have presets for "i"devices. However, it is also suitable for a wide range of other devices.
You can make your own presents, based on the available ones.
Simply select one of those (for example "Universal"), modify it to your liking, click on ADD under presets and give it a name. You can also make that a Default preset.

It seems that the free ones are bad. I have tried some. Sometimes it only convert a portion of my files. Sometimes the converted files are bad in effect: noise or image distorted.
At last, I think it is better to buy one. One of my colleagues told me rer MKV Converter, was not bad. It turned out ok. I like it for it is also easy to operate.
