Convert photos from internal storage to SD card

I have a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx running Android version 4.1.2.
I had the camera set to store photos to the internal storage instead of the SD card.
When I tried to download the photos to my MacBook Pro, no photos were transferred.
How do I convert all my photos from internal storage to the SD card so they can be downloaded?

Get a file manager (I use a free one called File Manager) from Play.

You should actually be able to see the contents of your phone on your Mac however I believe may you need some additional software - e.g. this. It might be worth googling something like "android usb apple mac" for further information.
