Copy an App?

Can you copy an app installed from the play store from a phone to a tablet?
I ask this because the current version of the app on the store does not work and the older one on my phone does. So I want the working one on the tablet.

If the app is a free app, yes. If the app is a paid app, then you'll need to be rooted. If it's a stock app, then maybe.

What's the app? You might contact the developer directly to a.) ask them for the earlier version, and b.) to report that the latest version isn't working. Dev's love feedback. :D

I found that SD Maid by DARKEN works well for exporting apk's to your SD card for future installation. There is an Export feature in the menu and it gives you a list of the available programs for export.

I used it to reinstall all of my apps, including some discontinued, after installing a new ROM.

Glad that program could help someone else. I usually do an Export of a program just before doing an update, just in case.
