Copy and pasting messages into word file

I am having difficulty how to copy the messgages or at least the text from messages into a word or similar document.

I can find the select and copy tool in the messages area, but when I copy and then try to paste into a document in the QuickOffice (the one provided with my HTC desire 2.2 Android) it will not paste back in.

I did not have this problem with my old windows mobile 6.0 phone.

Please advise any ideas how to do this. Thank you
 
QuickOffice (the one provided with my HTC desire 2.2 Android) can't edit word documents. For to paste in word docs, you'll need the full version or Dokument To Go full version.
