Copy original stock firmware and recovery

I have Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 phone. How can i copy the original stock firmware and recovery from phone before flashing a new one and possibly flash the old one with Odin or Kies?

No, that's not possible.

You can create a recoverable snapshot of your phone's system called a 'nandroid' backup, but you'd need a custom recovery to do that.

If all you're interested in is the stock firmware you can get it from Sammobile, but pay special attention to match it to your EXACT model number and carrier.

Do you have a suggestion of a good app for a nandroid backup?

You'd have to install a custom recovery like TWRP. If it's available for your phone, that's the one I think you should look into.

I don't see that model listed in supported devices https://twrp.me/Devices/Samsung/

But, knowing how Samsung plays fast and loose with phone names it could be under a different name. What's the exact model number of your phone?

The line is A3 (2017 edition), exact model (among others too) is A320FL.

Okay, I found this.

Please read the instructions carefully and get back with any questions before you attempt this.

As with any phone modifications, you are doing this at your own risk, so be careful.

I want to upgrade this phone from Android 6.0 to Android 7.0 as Samsung released Android 7.0 update firmware for this phone. But before i do this, i want to backup the original rom image inside the
phone in case i want to return back to the old one in case the new
firmware has problems or lot of bugs. But TWRP Recovery will be replaced by the original Samsung recovery when flashed the new rom or other Samsung rom (i tested this before). Can i copy the folder with the stock rom copied by TWRP recovery to the pc before flashing the new firmware to the phone and if i want to return to the
old firmware and re-install TWRP Recovery can i flash this old rom on the folder i saved before to the pc, to the phone without problem? If yes then where this folder is located to the phone after backing the internal rom with TWRP recovery?

At last step will i use Odin
or should i use TWRP Recovery to re-flash the old rom?

How did you intend to upgrade from 6.0 to 7.0?

If you were going to use an official upgrade from Samsung, I think as soon as you replace the stock recovery with TWRP, then you can't use that to upgrade.

This is what I'd do ...

Download both firmwares (6.0.1 and 7.0) for your phone from Sammobile.com

https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-a3/SM-A320FL/

Then make sure everything you want to save is backed up off your phone and flash the 7.0 firmware using Odin.

If you need to revert, then you can flash the 6.0.1 firmware using the same method. ( I think you can downgrade this way. Maybe @ironass would be able to confirm this.)

If you still want to perform a nandroid with TWRP, then, yes, it will copy the image to a monolithic file that you can copy to your PC. Not sure where it's stored, but it should be easy enough to find.
