Copy & Paste

Lurker
New to Android, coming from Blackberry/physical buttons, it is easy for me to get frustrated with how easy it was on BB and how much difficulty I'm having on Android.

My current problem with c/p (copy/paste) is on the selecting/copying end, especially in gmail. Is there a better email app for using copying functions? I am an obsessive c/p-er, and hope to be able to "select all" within an email, or select specific text (easily), for pasting into a memo that I can easily edit. This is where (it seems to me), the BB trackball and ability to select anything, anywhere there's text on the screen, and copy it, is beating the touch interface. I have these really long memos, such as movies I need to watch, or books to read, or music albums to get, that I'd rather not enter in manually again.

But please, please enlighten me. Is there an app for that? I'd rather my touch phone proficiency obliterate any liking I had for BB.

There is a copy/paste app in the market. It runs all the time waiting for you to use it, and it uses a window that you stretch along the text you want to select.
I used it and it does work, it's very helpful in the gmail app, I hate trying to select text there because it always immediately jumps to the top instead of where you tap.

Device: LG Optimus V ... that's the Virgin Mobile US model I believe.

My guess is that you are not on Android version 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) as this makes Copy & Paste very simple.
