Copy playlist from phone to WMP 12

How can I obtain this functionality, where I create a playlist on my phone and then import it into WMP 12? My phone is the EVO LTE. I imagine this is not a phone specific issue, nor an OS issue, but I'm on Windows 7 if that matters.

Or, for those of you ex-apple users...

"On-The-Go" playlists are created on an iPod, and then synced to iTunes.

I want the andriod/windows equivalent without using flashy and slow media players like poweramp or whatever its called (i tried it for 2 minutes and hate it. back to the stocker.)

I have tried to explore the EVO-phone side in WMP 12 and found a playlists section. I cannot drag it to the sync bar. But I can right click it and send it to the sync bar. I click sync, and in an instant I can check the status. all playlists come up with errors and do not sync "backwards". My playlists do not show up on the SD card side of my phone in WMP where all of my music is, and where my original WMP playlists are.

I then tried to explore the phone side from "My computer" and found no playlist files.

It seems like it should work and fairly easily. Its been a long time since I used a WMP type player. Doesnt it operate on the idea of 2 libraries and you choose a home library, and an away library and the player just plays in one at a time and syncs from one to another?

I also noticed that the playlists I create in WMP are saved as .wpl
files, and after they sync they are saved in the phone (card side) as .pla files.

Is there a way to save phone created playlists in this seemingly transferable form?

Some might ask why I want this stupid task... well, I prefer to spend my idle time creating playlists, and I seldom have idle time when I can access my computers library. But I seem to be stuck with my highly functional (hopefully) phone in situations that would suite wasting 5 minutes to create a playlist. Its not the end of the world, but if apple could do it 10 years ago, it should be easily feasible.

I'm going the double twist route for now. Its the cleanest looking player that seems to have simple functionality, and syncs everything it shows. Pretty pain free too. I hope its good in the long run.

Any other ideas that get me back to the original WMP12 + android stock type player will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe its just me but, when I connect my phone in MTP mode, WMP detects it. Haven't tried syncing the playlists though. Does that not work?

I only connect via MTP for WMP 12. I can sync playlists that I create on my PC, in WMP to my phone. But cannot apparently sync from phone created lists to PC.

It seems it should be possible since I can set it up. It just gives an error and does nothing.
