Corporate email: how to convince IT support to allow Android?

I work for a very big company where smart phone standard is Blackberry and Windows Mobile. Our IT department doesn't want to deviate from it. Could anyone suggest sound reasons for Android in corporate environment?

Windows Mobile uses ActiveSync. Some Android phones have native support for ActiveSync. If not there are apps that work with ActiveSync. I would just support it yourself.

Actually it is.. RIM and WinMo are losing marketshare at an astounding pace to Android.

Stats to reflect that? I work in IT and anecdotally speaking I know of one user on any of the 40-50 networks I work on that has an Android phone for work. Everyone else has Blackberry, WinMo and the occasional iPhone.

Google it. Its all over the web man. Android even overtook iPhone in terms of marketshare. Hell there are a few threads on this forum about it.

Are you talking total marketshare or are you talking Enterprise? The two are completely separate.

Last time I checked enterprise was included in total marketshare.

It is, but it isn't. Let's say there are 100 phones in the entire market. Let's say WinMo, iOS, BB and Android have 25 a piece. If none of the Android phones are being used for Enterprise then you can make the statement that Android is not taking over the Enterprise market. They'd still have a 25% market share overall, but their Enterprise share would be 0.
