Correcting typing errors

How about an app/feature that would allow you to move the cursor to a different area of the screen AFTER you notice that you've made a typing error? Right now I find myself poking at the screen, hoping that the cursor will move at least CLOSE to the area where I want to correct an error or to insert text. That capability would be dandy.

You don't have a trackball / trackpad on your phone? I use that for exact location of the cursor.

Uhhh, yah, discovered the track ball thing about an hour after I posted this question. So thanks! It's helped my fat fingers a lot...
