I bought a mytouch yesterday off craigslist, the kid said he had someone root it for him on 2.2
Before he gave it to me, he did a factory data reset to erase all his contacts, messages, info, etc. He gave it back to me and I had to set up the phone all over again (make a google account), so when I had that setup, I went to look up the phone info and saw that the firmware version was now 1.6.
Could this have caused it to unroot?
I called him and explained this to him and he told me he will pay me $15 and have the guy root it again for me.
It still has the "Wireless Tether for Root Users" app
I've never owned an Android phone, I'm a bit confused as to what happened.
thanks
