Help Coworker's RAZR updated on its own, now battery life is terrible

I want to look into something for someone I work with (a client, actually). She got a RAZR a few months ago, mainly for the good battery life. Then there was a recent update that she didn't approve and now her battery life is terrible-- like four hours and it's about to die with minimal usage. I'm guessing this is more of a widespread thing with the phone. Would she be better off trying to get Verizon to give her a MAXX or something? She's in her 50s and can't put a custom ROM on it-- and I'm not going to do it.

Thanks for any help.

Make sure the phone is backed up ( to Google usually ), then do a factory data reset.

The phone will be set back to when it was new ( but have ICS ), setup email etc and the apps that will still work should sync after a bit.

If it's still bad check on a new phone.

Grey is right. Do the Factory Reset(which Verizon will have you do if you call) and then keep track of the battery. If it is still bad. Call up VW and have them replace it. Tell them you already did the factory reset and it is still malfunctioning. The one you get will be a Certified Like New Replacement. Just means it is a cleaned up, fixed, used device. Hopefully the reset works. If the replacement does the same. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
