Root cpu usage

no matter what rom i use (current miui 2.2.10) ive noticed that no matter how many times i use the app killer, after a days usage i normally have to turn my phone off cuz it wont go below about 80% in use and says there is no more to be cleaned. is there anyway to stop this. obviously im rooted so any app recommends would be a great help. cheers

App killers do not work and -- if you use them -- make things worse by continually forcing Android to reload apps that you've killed. That's how Android works: it unloads apps as needed. Also, unless you are getting slowing or some other indication that there is a real memory issue, ignore apps that tell you what your cpu usage is... Android will ALWAYS try to max out your memory and, again, unless you are getting an indication there is really something wrong, ignore this.

One "memory manager" that a poster downloaded from CNET actually made things worse by using Rich Clipboard to constantly synch with ? on line.

thanks for the advice. i just read something similar on lifehacker. i did notice some slowing down, texting and screen transitions became increasingly slow. they recommended an app called watchdog that monitors cpu usage and looks for unusual behaviour, it doesnt kill any apps but allows you to see what could be causing any slowing down of the phone.

If you're experiencing sluggishness due to memory issues, and you are running 2.2.1 (T-Mo USA?) then try turning on debugging. Apparently a flaw has been identified in 2.2.1 which creates a memory usage issue. Not sure if it remains an issue when you change ROMs.
