Generally speaking, I despair of 'customer support'. The usual response to any technical query is usually 'computer says that's not a supported solution...' I believe I've found an exception to that rule though!
As I mentioned in a thread elsewhere, I contacted CPW by email to find out about likely timescales for ICS on unbranded/CPW Galaxy SIIs. They fired that one straight at Samsung in terms of responsibility for release schedules. At the bottom of the email, it said something about any other questions, please contact us. So, i thought I would! I asked them about getting Kies working on a Windows Virtualbox guest/Linux host setup. This is where it all got a bit surreal. I got a reply with potentially useful content in it! The recommendation was that I download the guest additions ISO manually and then mount and run that rather than rely on the pre-supplied one which don't work too good apparently. Nice one CPW!
