cracked bezel

I've had my GT 10.1 for a couple of weeks and i've begun to notice that the metal bezel is cracked in three of the four corners. At one of the corners, this seems to be allowing the body of the tab to separate from the glass top....if i pinch the back-and-top together there is movement.

Has anyone else seen this?

Samsung support is giving me a hard time about replacing the tab....
 
the SGT seems so fragile. I was very very careful with it until I got a case.

Do you think your problem is a defect, or have you banged it around a bit?
 
As you can imagine, I've treated it like an infant...carefully picking up up, holding it and carefully laying it down.

I've been downright obsessive with its treatment.

That's what makes me so angry with Samsung's response. I've got to send it in for an evaluation, and if they *think* that the damage is my fault, they'll charge me for the repair.

The GT10.1 is my first Samsung purchase, and I love the device and the software, but Samsung's response to this issue will make future Samsung purchases very unlikely.
 
i don't usually buy extended warranties, but I did for my Tab. Sounds like in your case Samsung should be replacing it anyway, but it's good to have a fallback, plus I'm protected if it's stolen, too.
 
Almost every manufacturer has gone to that strategy for repairs. That is why we go for the extended warranty coverage on our purchases like this.
