Crap on SD card.

Is there a setting in Android that will make apps put their cache in a particular folder on the SD card rather than in the root?

I like to keep my SD card organized but these damn apps just keeps putting crap all over the SD card...

I do not think there is any way to do it. It makes me mad too.

It frustrates me as well.

There's loads of crap on the SD card that I'd like to get rid of as it seems pointless - eg. images from old news feeds etc. However, I daren't get rid of it incase it has some kind of adverse effect!
