Credit/Debit card

I am new to the android market,am I right in saying it only accepts Visa Credit and not Debit cards,as I don't own credit cards

Where are you living? In the US Credit/Debit cards are the same thing when taken at face value. I think it is very different across the pond. (I live in the US)

Payment Methods

You can make purchases through Google Checkout using a credit, debit, or gift card with the following logos:

• Discover*
• MasterCard
• Solo**
• Visa
• Visa Electron**

Additionally, T-Mobile customers in the U.S. can purchase applications from the Android Market using direct carrier billing.
The types of cards accepted through Google Checkout are based on the seller's location. Other types of payments, such as checks, money orders, and direct bank account debit, aren't currently accepted.

** Accepted outside of the United States

Visa isn't it's own card, debit card and credit cards are the same thing when you go through a purchase infact, my debit card is a visa

Go to google.com/checkout and enter all the details there. Then go to Market.
