Credits for adding lines from another carrier?

I have 3 lines on AT&T right now (mine is the primary). I recently bought a Droid X on Verizon to try it out during the 30-day trial. I want to switch my wife and mother over to Verizon as well, but they have about 7 months left of their contracts.

I thought I read somewhere that Verizon periodically does credits for adding additional lines when porting from another carrier or something to that effect? The Verizon CSR said they have done it twice this year, but didn't know when they would do it again.

Not sure exactly how it works or if I should wait to port them over until this credit happens again?

Do you currently have a family plan and want to add these lines to it or are you looking at having each line on a separate plan?

I believe that Verizon will sometimes pay the early termination fee for someone's existing carrier if they switch to Verizon. But if are wanting to add lines to an existing Verizon family plan or change your current plan to a family plan with the added lines then the primary line, yours, is already on a Verizon contract, so I'm not sure what might be possible.
