Cricket's Data Plan

Hi y'all,
I am just trying to figure out if I actually need the android plan, or whatever it's called, with Cricket. I bought the data plan thingy for $65 per month, and am trying to find out if the unlimited phone, text, web would be the same thing, but cheaper. What is the difference? Will my android ascend work on a basic unlimited web plan or is there something on my phone that causes it to need the expensive plan to work?

I use the web all the time, but I havent listened to music or watched videos on it. Those things just arent' important to me. Phone, text and web are important. Please advise ... I'd love to lower this bill if I could.

I have a cricket 35 dollar plan that has internet on a mogul (been with cricket for awhile) and just activated Android Huewei switching from mogul to Huewei staying with the 35 dollar plan, Internet works but navigation and gps, u-tube dont work good unless your on a wifi connection. hope that helps.
