Critical temperature

What is the critical battery temperature at which I should put down my phone and let it cool off?

I'm curious because I was using my N5 as a GPS in my car and it got really hot - 48 degrees celcius when I checked my battery app..

The device will throttle the CPU to help it cool down if it gets too hot.

The phone will shut off at some point if it gets too hot, but reaching the mid 40's now and then isnt anything I'd worry about causing long term damage.

If mine gets hot while using GPS I just hold it in from of the AC vent to cool it down.

Just don't hold it out the window if the AC goes out

It works well, the only issue is your hand starts to get cold -

That's what I did now. I previously mounted my phone just like a regular GPS, on the front windshield, but obviously it's not the best spot for it, especially during summer now when it gets to 26-30 degress celcius..

I just placed my new phone mount on the AC vents in my car, so it should all work out now

Whenever I would run GPS in the car with my N5 I would always make sure I placed it in an area where a AC vent was directly on it... It would stay cool to the touch this way.
