I am going to Cuba for a week and want to read my incoming text messages only. If I turn off data and just use phone to read messages, will this be free. I currently get incoming messages free on my plan.

It won't be free and it will be expensive, if it works at all. I don't think Cuba is very efficient in terms of cellular service.

If you're with Rogers, you would use a 2G connection and one SMS costs 75 cents.

I am with fido and they have option to pay for a certain amount of roaming usage. Same when I was with Rogers.
