been running a different ROM for a few months - what's the OEM one like these days? Thinking about moving back to factory settings as some things don't play nice on a "modified" device

Lollipop ruined my N7, I had to roll back to a kit kat ROM.

I know a number of other people who had similar experiences.

If you do decide to return to stock, it might be worth using the last 4.4.4 factory image.

Mine's mostly OK on 5.1.1, but freezez occasionally and can get laggy. It's rooted stock, but not overclocked as I like the battery life.

I use mine with MultiROM and have got 3 roms (32 gb).
4.4.2 tweaking monster AOSP
4.4.4 LiquidSmooth (primary)
5.1.1 stripped down to the bones AOSP

I'm OCD on things going on in the background, so I end up disabling all sorts of unnecessary things. Maybe that's why I don't get lags/stutters/freeze-ups (only with improperly buffered streaming video). I also change my Low Memory Killer and other (using Metallice kexec compatible kernel for primary rom) settings, all might be attributing to (liquid)smooth operation. :p:p

Lollipop 5.1.1 brought my n7 almost to a stop but I have found that by running Nova (or Apus) launchers, speed is largely restored - at least now chrome keeps going!
