Custom binary blocked by frp lock

So here's the deal.

I bought a Samsung note 5 at verizon. After being a Iphone user since it came out I decided I needed a change. The phone was great for the first 10 days then one morning I went to open my phone and it had a message in red at the upper left hand corner. "custom binary blocked by FRP lock". I could not do anything with the phone at that point. I called verizon tech support and they told me the phone was dead so take it back to verizon and swap it out with a new one. So all the photos, notes and info that I had on the phone was gone. I took it to the store and all of the sales people said they had never seen that message. In addition verizon tech support admitted that the phone is so new that they have no idea how to work with the FRP (factory reset protection) feature. This is a big deal. If Samsung has this new FRP feature built into the phones and it is causing the phones to glitch and loose all ability to function then we have a big problem. No, I did not try to hack the phone or anything else. I use my phones for email, contacts, text and phone. That is it, no games or other software. It is my main business go to device. I have read that if you wait 72 hours the phone might be unlocked so you can get into it. If that is the case the way doesn't verizon know about this. Anyway, I ordered a new Note5 but with the FRP being this new it might be too big of a risk to keep it. I am disappointed because I really liked the phone. Please spread the word about this issue and if you need any other info on this please reach out. I run have been running a IT company for 20 years so I have some tech background. Thanks.
