Custom boot animation

Hey all, how would one go about creating a custom boot image and animation?

I don't have much advise as to how to actually creating either. But I can say that you seem a little confused (or I'm assuming too much) but a boot image is what contains the kernel, etc. And a boot animation is just what plays as you turn on your phone. Completely unrelated.

It's been many years, but I did once create a super-groovy bootanimation for my Nexus One, and the steps I followed were essentially what's in that guide.

I can't promise that the tools and techniques haven't changed with more recent Android versions though... good luck!

We'd love to see whatever animation you come up with!

Awesome, thx codesplice. And yes blu8, i didnt mean boot.img sorry, i meant the image that appears before the boot animation. I had a moto g that booted up showing cloud strife from ff7, then the animation was the ps1 startup screens. Was neat. Found the images online pre made
