Custom notifications?

Using the Captivate coming from a BB Bold. One thing I loved about my bold was how I was able to customize notifications; email was only indicated by the LED light, SMS vibrated, phone vibrated then rang, and additionally, I had unique notification settings for certain contacts (ie, my wife).

Is there a way to do any of the above? Especially looking for a way to keep email notification silent but have SMS vibrate.

This is the exact reason I decided to sign up for the forum and do a search. I want to silence my emails and vibrate SMS. If I find something, I'll report back.

If you're looking for something like the BB's profiles for centralized management of all alerts there's no such thing. There are some profiles apps that come close. There are apps to customize the LED notifications. Other than that, you're stuck changing notifications in each app for the most part.

Disable notifications in the email app. Pick what you want for the SMS/MMS app.
