custom ringback tones?

is there any app i can use to edit music on my phone into custom ringback tones,.. its not that i dont want to pay for the ringback tones on the market,.. although i really dont lol. the ones on the market though are only like 8 seconds long (unless thats just a preview) and i dont care for the part of the song they pick.

i have an app called Mp3 ringtone maker, that allows me ot edit out any part of a media file on my phone into a usable ringtone. is there an app like this for ringback tones.

Also if this isn't possible.. does anyone know if the vcast ringback tones are longer than the 8 seconds it plays to preview it or do they seriously expect us to pay 2$ for an 8 second clip

As far as I know, ringback tones are handled through the phone service provider. That way, they can charge you a ridiculous sum of money. Since the phone company is involved, I'm sure there's some licensing issues with ringbacks as well. Best bet is to contact them.
