Root Custom ROM Suggestion

Hi Friends,
A buddy of mine would like to know what custom ROM would you recommend for her S3. Thanks in advance!

There are so many to choose from. I recently upgraded to Lollipop and would never go back to anything else. Really depends on if your friend will be a heavy user or a light user. Either way, what is your friend used to? I ask because sometimes very customizable roms are not needed for the faint at heart. And what version of the S3 is your friend using?

Not to hijack the thread. I too am considering a custom ROM. It is imperative that the camera work and GPS works. Is there a ROM available like that? Thanks for your help.

Well I would personally recommend Exodus, I have only been using it for a week and love it very very much. Everything functions like normal. As long as you are on Sprint, Boost, or Virgin this will work.

Not sure which version AT&T Uses, but if you go into Settings > About Phone it will show it there.

Also see that OCT-L is supported for your device. If you find that Exodus does not support your device, this would be very close to my second recommendation as far as 5.1.1 goes. Has a ton of features also. One complaint I had about this Rom though was slightly high battery usage. Not anywhere close to horrible, but definitely keep it in mind.

This post highlights the downfall of putting all variants of the SGS3 into one section I'm afraid.
I'm using the International version of the S3, but so many times, the suggestions and help offered by others here only apply to certain variants, and, if someone is not careful, then sooner or later, an unwary person is going to come to grief by trying to flash a rom that isn't designed for their device.
Having said that, I'm still really happy with the Euphoria Lollipop rom, and would recommend it to any that have the same phone!

I am using CM 12.1 on my i747 S3. This is a Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM. Everything seems to work. I used GPS yesterday and it got me door to door. I don't use the camera much but I do know that it does work!
