The attached image is of my home screen. I use the LG Optimus T with Android 2.2.
I and trying to find out how to customize the dedicated messaging shortcut on the home screen. (the green button on the lower right of the screen). Instead of opening the stock messaging feature I would like the dedicated shortcut button to open an alternate messaging application I have downloaded.
Is it possible to do this without using a launcher application? They all appear to do away with the native dock look, which I happen to like, but I want the messaging soft-key to open my downloaded messaging app.
I am wanting to learn about building android apps... any suggestions as to where to begin? Short of actual programming knowledge I am computer literate.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated
