How's u guys battery life on CM 7.2? On my Ace, it seems that the battery is discharging much faster than the stock rom.

What would you suggest? I read something about battery life kernels, but not sure what to do.

Thanks,

You should switch back to stock roms if battery concerns you that much.
You will never get the stock rom battery life on CM, its a simple compromise of performance over battery life.

You can do underclock your cpu, will give you more battery life, but it will lag really bad.

thanks for the reply. i love the speed of CM and all the features. i have the performance on "on demand". on "battery save" it really lags. So underclocking wont be too good.

What do you think of stocklite 6.0?

im putting screen brightness all the way down and setting cpu max to 675hhz to see what happens. I have to start over with another rom. it took me 2 days to tweak CM to my taste. :-)

I notice that it goes from 100% to about 60% very quickly. Then it stays there for a bit longer. maybe i need to reset my battery stats again? Would that mess up my CM install?

Not at all.
Just let the battery drain to zero, then charge it to full and then wipe the battery stats, just like battery callibration.

To move to another rom, i'd say you make a backup of system app's data, it'll create a backup of all CM's settings, so whenever you use CM again having these apps, you can restore the data and all your settings will be restored. Mostly the settings.apk are same on all CM roms, so you can restore their data without a problem.
Note: Settings restore will work on CM rom only, not on stock, the apps are different.

I see what you mean. It may be that the battery stats is just giving a false reading. I tried a battery calibration app awhile ago. I charged to 100%, calibrated, and unplugged. Immediately i was at 92% charge. :-\ 10 min later, 85%. I dont think the battery is bad because it was fine with the stock rom.

No, through Titanium Backup.

I used used titanium backup a couple of times and once i restore everything i get a bunch of errors and force close messages... i have a backup created using titanium backup but its useless for me now..

Hmmmm....TB works pretty well with me.
No issues at all. You might have had a corrupt backup.
Note: Don't restore stock system app's data onto CM rom's system apps.
