CyanogenMod text editor font too small

I just got CyanogenMod working on my Moto G (cm-12-20150213-NIGHTLY-falcon.zip). However, I suspect that this question is not specific to the Moto G.

I like that there is a native text file editor app. Who needs a Notes app when there is a text file editor? I can use unix tools like diff and vimdiff to manually sync it with text files on my laptop (running cygwin). It's a bit of a pain that cygwin can't see the device as a unix path, but I think I can work around that.

However, the font is too small. It is much smaller than the font used by the OS for everything else. How can I increase the font size? I would like to minimize apps installation, so a native solution is best.

If you're not on Lollipop yet, you could use Xposed framework and the App Settings plugin to change the font size of the editor.

Thanks, vosg. I googled Xposed. I may go down that path. Currently, I've not decided to root the handset. I went with CyanogenMod to get away from the carrier's stock ROM rather than to get more control over the phone.
