Dail pad apps

I have am looking for a decent Android dial app which lets me easily dial from my contacts.
I have lots of people with the name, as an example, Mark and then surname
I also have lots of Smiths as an example.

The default app lets me use the alpha numeric keys, and will list all 15 Marks but then will not let me have a space so that I can then narrow this down to
Mark W as an example
same thing with Smith

SO I am looking for a decent alternative.

I've been using Dialer One for a lot of years and it does what you want. Just keep typing and it narrows the names down. It also has speed dial and is customizable.

You could also look at RocketDial and EXDial, I've tried both but just prefer Dialer One.

So it will cope with the space - would I tap 0 for space? I cannot see what button I would press!

No space required, just keep typing. If you are looking for Mike Smith then you type mikesm and it would get you there. Mike Jones would be mikejo and Mike Jones Jr. would be mikejonesj etc.
