DailyRoads Voyager save to external SDCard

Does anyone know if the DailyRoads Voyager dashcam app can save files to an external (removable) sdcard?

I have Dailyroads Voyager on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (Model GT-P6210) running Android version 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and with an external 32 GB microSDCard installed. I should prefer to save files to the external sdcard but DailyRoads Voyager settings do not recognize that file location (/mnt/sdcard/extstorages/sdcard/dailyroads) as a valid file path.

Do I have the file path wrong or is external sdcard file storage not supported on my device?

Just for you, I went to the Google Play page for DailyRoads Voyager, and the answer appears to be affirmative:

User-defined storage space on the SD card with cyclic recording; i.e. the card never fills up

Yes, it does say that but as I said, when I specify the external (removable) sdcard in my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus it returns an invalid file path error message.

I am wondering if by "User-defined storage space on the SD card..." they mean the built in sdcard storage only and not the removable sdcard storage. If anyone can clarify this I would be most appreciative and thankful to stop beating my head against the wall trying to make it work if in fact it won't work.

I got an answer to this from DailyRoads. Yes, Dailyroads Voyager does support saving files to the external sdcard. However, the file path to do this is case sensitive. The file path "mnt/sdcard/extStorages/SdCard/" is the required format.

It stops recording when my phone locks and screen turns off ?

Hello, great application but can you confirm that it is because of my mobile that it stop recording when screen turns off and locks ?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Prime duos and I want to use the minimum battery to record long time when my car is parked, how can I do ?

Thank you so much.

I am using daily roads and recording to my external sd card on two phones (gs4 running 4.3 and kyocera hydro icon running 4.4). I will post the path later.

If you got power saving mode enabled for minimum battery consumption, it shuts things down, like the camera, when the screen is off and locked to save power. So it's one or the other. Can you plug the phone into the cigar lighter outlet?

Here are the paths which successfully save to my external SD card, as listed within Daily Roads settings:

On my S4 running 4.3.... /storage/extSdCard/dailyroads

On my Kyocera Hydro Icon running 4.4....... /storage/sdcard0/dailyroads
...and by the way on this particular phone sdcard0 is the external card while sdcard1 is internal as I have verified using ES File explorer...that numbering seems a little odd but that's what they are.

Mine keeps recording after the screen times out (which is what I want). There are some settings that may be relevant:

Background Mode/Background operation / "videos & photos are captured until the application is closed"... I have this checked....

General / "Keep the lock screen"... I have this unchecked. Not sure exactly what it does.

Hello, is it the easiest application to use as a dashcam or do you know any other application ?

Thank you.

it is very easy to use. Tell it how much space it has to use. Then when full, it will write over oldest files (unless you designate specific files to keep) so you don't have to worry about filling up your sd. Start it and forget it.
