How well do suction mounts work on a textured car dash? I got one for Christmas but never even opened it til now and I was wondering what your thoughts were?

Which one did you get? I reviewed Arkon Slim Grip Ultra and Mobile Grip 2 (look up in the review links from my sig or sticky at the top of the Accessories page), and took a lot of pictures to demonstrate how well it sticks to textured surface. Can't speak of other mounts, but those two are my favorite!!!
I've never had any luck with suction mounts on a textured surface. I don't even trust them on a flat surface over a long period of time. Maybe the new ones will work but I use a vent mount. Has an added benefit of cooling the phone when used for navigation. Not good for the winter though. Have to route the warm air away from that vent then.
