Root data + charging with otg y cable

I'm running a rooted asus MeMO Pad fhd 10 and I saw on some other posts that there is a custom kernel that will allow me to connect a controller to the main usb part of the y cable and also plug my charge cable to the other end so I charge at the the same time. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance.
