Help Data switch stuck

Wo79

Lurker
Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has had the same issue and been able to fix it.

The issue is that the mobile data switch is greyed over so unable to switch it on and off meaning data is not currently working.

I've tried these already
Switching to aeroplane mode
Resetting to factory
Taking sim in and out
Resetting the APN
Changing network provider

Nothing is working so far

This happened a week after getting WiFi so I think it's probably linked.

Can you let us know the make, model, carrier and android version of your phone, also your ISP,a nd are you using their router or one you bought independently>

LG, O2 (have tried others since as first thought that may be the issue) how do I find out which android version?

I have no idea about the other things either, I am using WiFi in a house share.

Are we talking WiFi or mobile data here? The sim and apn will only affect the mobile data, WiFi is a different radio. Do you have unlimited data? It might be you've reached an allotment with your carrier. Or, the fact that the option is grayed out could indicate a driver or a hardware failure. A device model and Android version might be helpful.

im sorry i.have a nokia 3.1 pluse

When settings in Android are greyed out like that, it usually indicates that the hardware or driver associated is either not recognized or malfunctioning. You could try reflashing firmware, but it's more likely to be a hardware failure. That requires the defective component to be replaced.
