Data Transfer Issue

Hey everyone. Just bought 5X with an additional USB 3.0 to Type-C data cable to transfer files from/to my laptop. My laptop has Windows 7 with USB 2.0 ports. So when I connect my phone with the laptop, it is only charging the phone and showing me other import options. But the internal memory of the phone is not showing. Anyone else having the same issue as mine? Is it port incompatibility or anything else? Any solution to this problem?

Never mind. Figured it out. There's a drop option as USB in the phone where I just had to select data transfer instead of charging.

Yeah I had the same issue when I plugged in to transfer some files. Think it is a Marshmallow thing, because my Nexus 5 was doing the same after the update.

It's a PITA. I can't see any way to have it default to MTP either. Bizarre default: I rarely plug a phone into computer if I don't intend to do something with it ..

Same here when I plugged into my computer to launch up Android File Transfer (Mac), and it said it couldn't connect. I had to change the terrible "charging only" default setting to allow for data transfer.
