Data Usage on Metro website

When I log into my MetroPCS account I can view my data usage for my Lg Motion. My current phone data used reading is 374mb. (excluding wifi of cause). When I look at data used on the web, it only says 3% (I'm on 2.5gb plan) According to my calculations it should be around 15%. Can anyone explain to me the way they calculate it. Seems like certain things do not count towards data usage.

You might ask me, why bother? You have plenty of data left.The reason is, that I'd like to get a new 4g phone for my mom and I'm trying to figure out if she can survive with 250mb of data plan.
 
You can just check through settings> data usage because that gives you the exact amount & it doesn't include wifi either
 
very simple answer metro pcs dosnt count everything towards your data plan if ur using an app to evaluate your data usage it counts 100% everything as data. another thing u should know any data you use with your 1x or 3g does not count towards your data monthly allowance so with that being said not everything u do on your phone is counted towards your allowance and nor whatever u use over 1x and 3g so hope that explains everything.

That's exacly where I get the number from. Actual data, not wifi, it doesn't add app at all.

I live in 4g area and I don't often leave 4g area. In fact I almost never get 3g or 1x at all. I can see the margin of error, but come on. Last month my data was around 2gb and web said only 15%-20% was used.

That's cuz things like checking your email or checking out a site isn't counted towards your data but if u use YouTube Netflix or Pandora that will get the meter moving and like the fine prints says any abnormal data usage detected and they will throttle u.
 
yes! i think they are having problems with the system. Last week i has 4% used and when i checked again i was a 1%. Now i am back to 3%. i know ive used more than that!
 
I got a new phone today and the guy at metro said i was on the 2.5gb plan, so i told him to switch my plan to the unlimited one, but on the data usage thing on my phone still has a warning line at the 2gb spot and a red line at the 2.5gb. Whats up with that.

Ignore that happened to me and rep told me not worry about it.
