Date display Nexus 4

[Android Question]

Hi! I've got a Nexus 4 and the date displayed in my notifications bar lists the day as numbers and not the actual day.... for example instead of it reading, MON, 8 26, it says 2 8 26.... 2 referring to the second day of the week. It's quite annoying to do the math when i look at my phone! Changing the date and time settings does nothing either. Can anyone help?

Strange - I don't get any day of week information in my dates ..

Most likely place is under Settings .. Date & Time. My N4 is stock and I don't see any format options that include DoW, though
