Help Date format

Bob Hawkins

Newbie
I noticed for the first time today that the date format in my wife's Locus Map Pro app is displayed as 4/7/2019, while mine is 07/04/2019. I am informed by the developer that there is no facility within the app to set a date format; it relies upon Android.
My wife's mobile 'phone is the same as mine - a 2nd generation Motorola Moto G running version 5.0 Lollipop.
Settings>Date & time are identical. I do not see a date format option, either.
I wonder if such a facility resides elsewhere? If not, how might two identical 'phones differ?

I've never seen a setting for that either. Is it possibly set up when you choose language upon initial phone setup? Like one phone is English (UK) and one is English (US). I'm honestly guessing here, but I've honestly got nothing else. o_O

Do you have any region or default time zone setting? Because one of you is using a US convention, the other a European one (I can't say which is which because both 4/7 and 7/4 are valid in either convention, and neither is today's date so there's no tie-breaker there). Either in the app or at the system level, but there's something in your setup that's telling it that you have different preferred formats.

(This is why I prefer to use the ISO format: yyyy-mm-dd is unambiguous ;)).

I noticed for the first time today that the date format in my wife's Locus Map Pro app is displayed as 4/7/2019, while mine is 07/04/2019.
Does this ONLY happen in that one app? If so, I don't see how it can be due to a system setting.

Please clarify if it's limited to Locus Map Pro.

Edit: Where within the app do dates appear? I installed the free version to explore its settings (there are no date settings), but don't know where to look to actually see a date.

I thank you all for your thoughts.
Partly solved:
I discovered 'Language' in Locus Map Pro on my 'phone is set to 'Default system' whereas my wife's 'phone is set to 'English (English)'. Resetting hers to 'Default system' changes the date format to match mine as 07/04/2019, say, after restarting the application.
Strangely, however, changing my 'phone to 'English (English)' does not alter the date format to 7/4/2019, say. The one difference is that I updated my wife's 'phone to version 3.38.3 recently, whereas mine is a much earlier version. I await a further response from the Locus Map developer.
'Language' in the Android system is set to 'English (United Kingdom)' on both our 'phones.

For your interest, perhaps: the dates of which I write are displayed in a recorded route in Points and Tracks>Recorded against the calendar icon.
