Day like view from calendar

Hello, I'm creating conference app and I need to create day like view - same as calendar on my phone.

I also want that every event will be clickable to show more information just like in this calendar.

I know it will be complicated as hell at the end, but my question is any idea how to do it? At least how to start.. I need starting point from where I could begin. I saw some solution with Paint(), but I want to know if there are other ways to do it.

I don't think it's that complicated. Just a question of drawing coloured rectangles at specific positions on the screen. I guess the added complexity will come in handling both portrait and landscape orientations, plus dealing with different screen sizes.
Your starting point is understanding how to draw 2D graphics on a canvas.

Yes, thank you. After all it wasn't so hard. It will be problematic with collisions etc., but that's for another time.
