Root Dead Android

Ok, so i flashed a stock recovery to my phone, but when i attempt to boot into recovery, I see the little droid with red triangle. I've tried all manner of button combos to bring up a menu, no luck. Using software from the phone and booting into recovery gives the same results. Phone works just fine, and i no longer get the Secure Boot error... But now i have no idea if i have a functional stock recovery or not. Any insight would be appreciated.

Sorry to the mods... I figured it out! I now have my stock recovery back. Thanks guys!
You should put down what steps you did just in case someone sometime down the road runs into the same issue and searches, finds this post and ends up disapointed.

Ah yes sorry. So my issue, I kept getting there Android with the red triangle. I couldn't seem to bring up the stock recovery menu. All you must do is simply hold down the Vol. Down button+power, and keep holding it down UNTIL you see the Stock Recovery menu.

1. Power Off phone
2. Power+Vol. Down until menu comes up.

That's it! You are now at stock recovery screen!

Yep, that's correct. That option in dev settings is cosmetic lol. We have no custom recovery just yet. For now, as far as i know, we only have the stock recovery. Did you backup your recovery before you tried to flash TWRP?

soooo i am having the same issue and have spent hours now watching videos and reading blogs or forums. i have tried every single thing it has suggested to no avail. i dont even get the reboot menu. Thoughts? and what is twrp?
